For over two decades, PBSA bedrooms have barely changed—yet students’ needs have moved on. That’s why A Designer at Heart and LOFT joined forces to develop Nestblok: a modular furniture system that reimagines student bedrooms from the ground up. Standard rooms with a bed, desk, and pinboard no longer reflect how students live. Today’s residents want privacy, comfort, and the freedom to make a space their own. Nestblok answers that call with adaptable furniture solutions—think movable desks, pull-out storage, foldable pieces, pegboards, and modular partitions—all tailored to support flexibility, comfort, and emotional well-being. Built using offsite manufacturing, early-stage prototyping, and modular design principles, Nestblok ensures quicker installations, reduced waste, and more budget-conscious customisation. It’s been developed with insights from students' surveys as well as designing over 20,000 rooms and trialled across 60+ layouts—making it a solution grounded in both experience and innovation.
