POHA House Hamburg is Europe’s first Cradle-to-Cradle residential high-rise, blending circular architecture with modern coliving. Built with 80% reusable materials and non-toxic design, it’s a vibrant home where community comes alive.
As both operator and co-creator, POHA helped shape a space where sustainability and community go hand in hand. The 24,000 m² building blends coliving, coworking, daycare, and affordable housing under one green roof. The building features a fully greened footprint, circular facade engineering, and 80% demountable, non-toxic materials—turning the structure into a material bank. It has received the HafenCity Umweltzeichen in Platinum, which is a top-tier environmental certification awarded for outstanding sustainability. Smart energy systems, including photovoltaics, district heating, and real-time monitoring, ensure efficient low-emission operation. POHA House occupies nearly half the building with 4,000+ m² of coliving and coworking space integrated into a sustainable design. Generous green facades, urban farming, and natural materials promote health and well-being, while open community areas foster connection. Beyond providing furnished flats and flexible workspaces, POHA activates the building with events, partnerships, and inclusive experiences—transforming cutting-edge architecture into a human-centered ecosystem for future living. The architecture balances form and function, creating a future-forward model of flexible, inclusive, and climate-positive living. It’s more than a building—it’s a blueprint for sustainable, social urban living.
