The Class Foundation connects real estate players, higher education representatives, and city leaders to stage a cohesive approach in solving the European student housing crisis.
Their vision is for cities to attract and retain the brightest young minds, and for them to lead the way to social and economic success in return.
Together with their industry-leading community, they set out to rethink the places where students live, work, and learn.
This year, for the Coliving Awards 2022, the Programme Curator of The Class Foundation, Arunima Dey will join as lead judge for the Student Coliving category, providing her expertise in both student living and higher education to our jury. She approaches higher education in a holistic manner by focusing on affordable student housing and student mobility grounded in the ethos of sustainability, and creating social value for both students and their host communities.
In November 2021, The Class Foundation challenged over 350 delegates from higher education, real estate, technology, investment, co-working, coliving and of course, student living to look ahead at the forces – both within and outside our industry – that are accelerating our transition to a brighter, more equitable future.
The following themes were identified as focal points for their agenda: Student Mobility, Policy Reform, Sustainability, Wellbeing & Community, Social Value, and Market Strategies.

Omar Ali, the Head of Marketing & Communications for The Class Foundation, shared with us that they are partnering with Coliving Awards because:
The ongoing housing crisis in Europe is one of those complex societal challenges that demands our boldest and freshest ideas. This is exactly what we see coming out of the coliving community year after year. Since arriving onto the real estate scene, coliving has proven itself to be a hotbed of innovation and creativity, and the Coliving Awards are the perfect celebration of this.
Our partnership helps consolidate the shared living sector and bring innovation and impact to shared living businesses, student accommodation providers and academic cities around the world.
We are welcoming The Class Foundation into the Coliving Awards community, and are looking forward to more announcements to come. In the meanwhile, reach out to us directly to learn more about opportunities for collaboration!
